•  The act of preserving, guarding, or protecting; the keeping (of a thing) in a safe or entire state; preservation.

The Savannah Africa believes that conservation is of utmost importance. Without conservation efforts, the world as we know it today may not be here tomorrow for our children. To that end, we operate our entire preserve under strict conservation guidelines. We believe that education is the key. By educating our children of the need to protect and preserve the environment we feel we are making great progress in that area. At The Savannah we focus on educating our guests about conservation; the plants, animals, birds, and insects that are vital to a healthy environment.

In addition to the Vaal River, Cheetah and Buffalo conservation projects, there are several other conservation projects that are ongoing.
